It is a multifunctional complex operating as a textile, scientific, educational and cultural centre in the Ivanovo Region.
    The town of Ivanovo is situated in the heart of Russia, 300 km from Moscow. The Academy is located in the town centre. It has well equipped comfortable settings for classes, computer laboratories, extensive library stocks (over 700000 volumes), reading halls and sporting facilities, a rest home on Lake Rubskoye.
    The Academy maintains 4 dormitories, 3 are 300 m walk of the main academic buildings and 1 - within a 10 minute bus journey. The dormitories are adequately supplied, providing all necessary facilities for their inhabitants. The rooms are well furnished and for those who prefer to cook meals by themselves kitchens are available on each floor equipped with a gas cooker, running and hot water taps, furniture.
    The whole population of the students enrolled on the programmes at 5 faculties reaches 2717, among the highly qualified faculty members of the Academy engaged in the educational process are 34 professors and doctors of science, 218 assistant professors and doctors of philosophy, 378 instructors.
    The educational services for foreign students have been delivered since 1947. Throughout this period over 300 foreign citizens coming from 42 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America have been awarded the diplomas of higher education.

    At the Preparatory Faculty foreign students learn Russian and get prepared to start basic disciplines, taking adaptive courses in maths, physics, information science, engineering graphics etc., the selection of disciplines depending on the speciality chosen. The duration of Russian courses varies from 3 to 10 months as may be required by the purpose of training, financial possibilities and career objectives.
    The choice of Russian courses available for foreign learners:
- elementary Russian course (10 months),
- special courses for students, having a good command of Russian (business Russian, basic economic studies, technical disciplines studies) - 3 months and more,
- intensive Russian course - up to 3 months.
    Teaching is performed by qualified instructors, having experience of teaching abroad.
