You are holding our prospectus in your hands. We hope that this publication will provide you with relevant information about our institution that may be of current interest to you. What we are seeking for is your friendship and your eagerness to establish mutually advantageous cooperative links with our Academy.
Ivanovo Textile Academy is a multifunctional complex, operating as a Center of Science, Education and Culture in the Ivanovo Region. Among members of the IGTA staff are leading scholars and experts in textile technology, ready-made clothing design and technology, materials technology, standardization and certification of textile and light industry products, designing, production, maintenance and repair of the textile machinery and equipment, automation of technological and production processes, economics and management at a company level. The Academy’s mission is to train highly qualified specialists for career in the textile and light industries, textile machine-building, of consumer services, etc.
The system of professional training at a higher level adopted in our institution is multi-stage. We try to do our utmost to upgrade our students to the level of real experts. Research laboratories, students’ creative associations, chairs affiliated to companies and research institutions, post-graduate and doctoral programmes have been organized in pursuance of this objective.
Most of IGTA graduates are readily employed in various branches of industry, in service establishments, directing bodies, research institutions, higher and secondary schools of professional training, financial and tax structural units, bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, etc. Many of them have succeeded in business and assimilated into the market economy environment.
In 1994 the Ivanovo Textile Institute was granted status of the Ivanovo State Textile Academy. The Academy’s glorious name has become known all over the world, as its graduates hold service not only in Russia, but in 14 CIS countries and 38 countries of Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
We are sure that the current population of IGTA students, research trainees, post-graduate and doctoral students will become prominent scholars, leaders of various ranks, successful businessmen and popular public figures.
We cherish hope that this tradition will be upheld by the applicants who will join the student body in the years to come. They are the future of our Native Land. We are confident that with their support Russia will be transformed into a prosperous country.
